This was the state of discipline on the Enterprise under Picard.

For canonites with no sense of humor, Memory Alpha has created a so-called article on Edward Jellico.

Edward Jellico was the 47th captain of the fishing smack Enterprise. He conspired with Sub Admiral Alynna Nechayev to assume command of the flag ship of the Federation in order to hand noted frog Jean-Luc Picard over to the Spoonheads. It would have worked, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids.

As a security measure, Jellico appointed Commander Data as his First Officer. Jellico was very concerned about the way his officers dressed, so he ordered Data to wear a red shirt and stand in front of him at all times.

Data, an officer whose loyalty does not bear close inspection, was particularly sad to see Jellico return command to Picard.

Jellico eventually retired from Starfleet, after the Dominion War. Shortly after, he ran for Federation President and by everyone's surprise, including his own, he was elected.

This article is a stub because the previous author was a) unable to gather enough information on the subject, or b) too damn lazy to finish it!
