The original Enterprise, inspiration of the Thunderchild types design.
The Thunderchild type is a class of starships of Starfleet. Its designers were inspired by the design of the original starship Enterprise, the first warp five ship.
In Dominion War, more than fifty different ships of this class were involved in different battles. But because Starfleet Command knew that most of them would get destroyed only seconds after meeting the Jem'Hadar forces they named none of them to save time.

- Because the ships of this class look nearly exactly like the Enterprise, some fans call this class the Enterchild-type.
- Other fans call it Akiraprise-class, only because they think Japanese names sound cooler due to the amount of anime available on American television. In fact, Akira is a Scottish name.
